Festival Supporters are the life blood of the Chichester International Film Festival. Their generosity helps us do far more than present an outstanding programme of films – it enables us to bring people together, champion independent cinema, and ensure that audiences of all ages and backgrounds can experience the magic of film.
Every year, we curate a diverse programme designed to entertain, inspire, educate and provoke conversation, showcasing exceptional films from around the world alongside filmmaker Q&As, talks and special events. By becoming a Festival Supporter, you are helping to make this possible while directly supporting the charitable work that continues long after the Festival ends.
As a registered charity, a proportion of the festival income is reinvested into our year-round community outreach programmes. Guided by our mission of using the power of cinema to:
* Foster and strengthen community cohesion.
* Combat social isolation.
* Inspire, educate and create opportunities for young people.
* Enrich the cultural life of our community while championing independent cinema.
Our outreach programme reaches hundreds of people throughout the year. We provide free screenings for young adults with learning disabilities from the Apuldram Centre who would not normally have the opportunity to visit the cinema, accessible screenings for children with disabilities through our partnership with PACSO, and children from The Chichester Boy's Club who offer a range of activities and support to children and adults.
We also run our Film Club for 15–25-year-olds, helping to tackle social isolation among young people through a welcoming community built around a shared love of film. Complimentary tickets are provided to organisations including My Sister's House, Chichester District Foodbank, Age UK, Creative Beatz, Jam Café and Chichester Sanctuary, ensuring that those facing difficult circumstances can also enjoy the benefits of cinema.
Our Family Flicks programme offers affordable family screenings and creative film workshops, helping families experiencing financial pressures enjoy quality time together. Through our Greener Screen initiative working with Transitions Chichester we use the power of film to raise awareness of climate change, sustainability and the environmental challenges facing our world.
